Wymer Eugene Bryson, 79, of Highlands, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016.

Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late James Lawrence Bryson and Ellie Lazelle Talley Bryson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Hawkins and one brother, Wendell Bryson. Wymer was an accomplished banjo player; He had a God given gift to play any musical instrument given to him. He was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church and worked for many years before retiring from the Town of Highlands.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years and seven months, Lavaunda "Bonnie" Miller Bryson; one daughter, Eugenia "Genia" Bryson of Highlands; one brother, Homer Bryson and wife Eloise of Franklin; four sisters, Opal McCall and Doris Hicks both of Highlands, Gail Henry of Liberty, SC and Mae Ivester and husband Dennis of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19th at Buck Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jamie Passmore will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at Buck Creek Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Ivester, Justin Hicks, Mike Houston, Jimmy McCall, Jeff Miller, Buddy Miller and Gary McCall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Miller, Benjamin Miller, Jacob Miller, Johnathan Miller, Denver Bryson, Kevin Henry and Donald Dowdle.
