Obituary

Woodrow Thomas Holland, 91, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Gurley Holland and Temperance Moore Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothena Gregory Holland who died December 7, 2005; two sisters, Bida Deal and Bertie Dills and four brothers, Troy, Vernon, Elbert and Howard. Woodrow was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre; he attended Franklin Church of God; and was an outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish and ginseng hunt. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 4, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Angel, Danny Davis, Joel Holland, Edward Holland, Kevin Wilson and Chuck Holland. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
