Wilma Lois Nelson McBride, 87, of Franklin went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
Born in Noble, IL, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nina Nelson. She and her husband bought a home in Franklin in 1977, visiting often until Dale's passing in 2001. In 2003 she became a full-time resident, having lived in Fort Pierce since 1954. Wilma enjoyed many handcrafts: tatting, braiding rugs, knitting, soap making, and quilting with the Cowee Quilters. She also enjoyed gardening and filling her yard with flowers. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, and granny and had a great time playing games with her children and grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by four children, Emily Sue McBride of Franklin, Melvin McBride (Trudy) of Wake Forest, NC, Karen Ann Clingenpeel (Randall) and Daniel McBride (Debbie) both of Fort Pierce, FL, and; sister, Anna Eagleton of Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service and Burial were held in Fort Pierce, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, November 29 at Trinity Assembly of God in Franklin, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to your favorite charity in Wilma's name.
