William Adron "Bill" Sanders, 99, of Franklin, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018.
He was born November 24, 1918 in Sevierville, TN to the late Mose and Cora Lee Rogers Sanders of Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Hall Sanders; daughter, Billie Ruth "Judy" Sanders; brothers and sisters, Judd Sanders, Jannie Mae Smith, Vernon Sanders, Theodore Sanders, Harold Sanders and Virginia Gash.
He attended the Cherokee Indian Schools in Cherokee, NC and went to 3rd grade. He worked as a laborer most of his life and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Bill was a member of the Old Cherokee Baptist Church, Cherokee, NC and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church now known as New Bethel Baptist Church Franklin. He enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, his cat Bootsy and dog, Lucky, studing maps, attending church service and studying different cultures and customs.
Surviving are a son, George Hall (Peggy) of Franklin; daughter, Mary Boston of Franklin; grandchildren, Deborah Bryson (Dana) of Simpsonville, SC Greg Hall of Franklin, Donna Hall of Franklin, Montoya Boston of Greensboro, NC, Shanna Sanders of Greensboro, NC, Courtney Grooms (Carlos) of Greensboro, NC and Blaine Clark of Franklin; great grandchildren, Sean Hall of Franklin and Phillip Boston, II of Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Hattie Sanders of Brevard, NC; brother-in-law, Louis Penland of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. James Keyth Eddings will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
