William "Roger" Rickman, 86, of Franklin, entered into rest on Tues., June 6, 2006.
A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late William P. Rickman and Inez Bryson Rickman. In addition he was preceded in death by a step daughter, Gracie Dean Jackson. Roger graduated from N.C. State with a masters in Forestry. He was a member of Cowee Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the American Legion Post 108.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Barger Rickman; five step children, Denver Couch of Salem, Indiana, Geraldine Bowling of Sizerock, KY, Kathleen Dills, Betty Sue Passmore and Stephanie Hamilton all of Franklin; fifteen step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. Lloyd Fish and Rev. Tommy Fouts will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Bowling, Joe Dills, Rick Dills, Freddie Dills, Charles Cabe and Bennie Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
