William "Billy" Joel Collins, Jr., 64, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015.

Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Evelyn Graves Collins of Conyers, GA, and the late William Joel Collins, Sr. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Collins. Billy was a retired school teacher/coach at Edwards Middle School in Rockdale County, GA; he coached basketball, football and track and enjoyed running, playing the guitar and keyboard.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara Collins Vlass; son, William Geoffrey Collins and wife Jennifer of Gainesville, FL; sister, Christi Collins Mitcham of Conyers, GA; brother, Danny Collins of Covington, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at Scott Ward Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Benson will officiate. Burial will be in the East View Cemetery, Conyers, GA.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, at Scott Ward Funeral Home.
