William Kenneth Barnett, 83, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008.
A native of St. Catharines Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Daniel Leo and Eva Margaret Smith Barnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Visentin. He was a mechanical engineer in the fibers division of the textile mill, Hercules, Inc; a WWII veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force; and attended First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Clement Barnett; two sons, Stephen Kenneth Barnett of Roswell, GA, and William David Barnett of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren, Alexis Hawkes, William Barnett, and Lee Barnett; one great grandchild, Liam Hawkes; and one niece, Barbara Truant.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Bob Abel will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 28, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Barnett, Bill Barnett, Ernest Holt, Larry Coates, Thomas LeMieux, and Ed Nelson.
