William "Bill" Balog, 68, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010.

Born in Ashtabula, OH, he was the son of the late Steve Balog and Frances Brooks Balog. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Into. Mr. Balog was a US Army veteran; the first golf pro at Mill Creek Country Club; started the FHS golf program and helped construct the back nine holes at Mill Creek. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charlotte Cummins Balog; sister, Rebecca "Becky" Billman of Akron, OH; four nephews; two nieces; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Barlett and husband Bob of Livermore, CA and brother-n-law Guy T. Cummins and wife, Mary of Livermore, CA.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
