Obituary

Willard "Coot" Odell Holbrook, 86, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

Born in Jackson Co, he was the son of the late Bry Holbrook and Vina Welch Holbrook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Holbrook; a son, Gene Holbrook; three brothers, Dwight Holbrook, Harold Holbrook and Weaver Holbrook and two sisters, Lola Fouts and Lassie Parker. Coot was a US Army veteran and served during WWII. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Republican Men's Club and President of Burningtown and Iotla Fire Department. He was a member of Tellico Baptist Church, where he was very active.

He is survived by his son, Willard "Dale" Holbrook of Etowh, TN; Linda Stelter; granddaughter, Genia Holbrook; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Tellico Baptist Church. Rev. Gary McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations can be made to Tellico Baptist Church Building Fund.
