Wallace Edward Fox, 79, of Otto, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008.
Born in Tryon, NC, he was the son of the late Nathan Phillip Fox and Jeanette Carey Fox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Wallace Edward Fox Jr. who died in 2006. Ed was a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran. After retiring from the military, Ed worked as a computer programmer for Sun Oil Co. and later retired. He volunteered with Valley Forge Boy Scouts Council of Pennsylvania; was a former member of the Board of Directors of Macon County Hospice and former active member of the Haverford Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pennsylvania. Ed loved to garden and work in his yard. He was an active member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Edith "Bobbie" Adams Fox; three children, Daniel E. Fox of Norristown, Penn, Anne D. Connor of O'Fallon, Illinois and Barbara H. Zulli of Calhoun, GA; one sister, Martha I. Summer of Otto, NC; three grandchildren, Barbara Ramey and husband Michael Ramey, Rob Connor and Glenn Connor; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Logan Ramey and five nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Ashlock will officiate and the Smoky Mountain Marine Corps League will conduct Military Rites.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
