Obituary
Wade D. Gilkey, 87, of Franklin, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2006.
Born May 21, 1919 in Anacortes, Washington he was the son of the late Walter Wade Gilkey and Nell Dollinger Gilkey. Wade retired from Aleutian Construction of Seattle, Skagit Valley Lab of Mt. Vernon, WA and was currently employed by Sapphire Valley Public Safety. He was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Brenda Kiser Gilkey of Franklin; children, Barbara Jean Kager of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Lee Gilkey of Helena, Montana, Wade Gilkey, Jr. of Belleville, Michigan, Pamela Saunders of Bellingham, Washington; one step son, Ross D. Shields of Franklin; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at Mount Hope Baptist Church. Pastor Wiley Gibson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mount Hope Baptist Church, 199 Old Patton Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
