V.L. Holland, 81, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Sunday, February 5, 2006.
A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Lorenzo Holland and Emma Teems Holland. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and was a lifelong member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 52 years. V.L. was an appliance repairman for Macon County Supply for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Angel Holland; two children, Mike Holland and wife Kathy and Bonnie Manogue and husband, Abe all of Franklin; two grandchildren, Gary Gibson and Casey Holland; three great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Ernie Sanders and Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be R.L. Gibson, J.D. Gibson, Isaac Gibson, Don Deal, Gary Gibson and Larry Angel.
