Vivian R. "Dugan" Crawford, 93, of Franklin, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Harley Crawford and Minnie Tallent Crawford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Sylvester Crawford and sister, Vencil Marr. Dugan was retired from the NC DOT Bridge Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bedell Bradley Crawford; daughter, Beth Shook and husband Jerry; granddaughter, Meg Tallent and husband Tracy; three step-grandchildren, Allen Shook and wife Deanette, Chris Shook and wife Chrissy and Jamie Keener and husband Jeff all of Franklin; great-granddaughter Gabby Tallent; two brothers, Clarence Crawford of Dudley, GA and Cecil Crawford of Sylvania, GA; two sisters, Blanche Cope and Della Woody both of Gastonia, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Dusek and Rev. Charles Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Crawford, Chris Shook, Allen Shook, Huel Cope, Buster Tallent and Carter Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Home Health and Hospice, 70 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
