Virginia Gloria Hoepner, 83, of Franklin, entered into rest on Friday, July 22, 2005.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, born July 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Archibald Caruso and Wilhelmina Straga Caruso. She moved to Pewaukee, Wisconsin in 1950. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Lloyd Honey and second husband, Charles Herman Hoepner; daughter, Gloria Mina Honey; and sister, Helen Caruso Thomson. Virginia attended the Teachers' College, Winnipeg, Manitoba, received a Bachelors' Degree and a Masters' Degree in Education from the University Wisconsin at Whitewater. She retired from Park Lawn Elementary School in the Oconomowoc Area School District in Wisconsin. Her interests included quilting, Ukrainian Easter Eggs (PSANKY), avid reader, world traveler, knitting and crocheting, sewing, cake decorating, and much more through the years.
She is survived by two daughters, Corinne Dale Honey and Vivian Patrice Honey both residents of Franklin; three grandchildren, Michael Schlender of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Benjamin Luke Schlender of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Linda Schlender of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; a niece, Beverly Beaudin Priestly and family of Delta British Columbia, Canada; nephew, Brian Peter Thomson and family of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and cousin John Miklash and his wife Mary of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; other dear friends which include Diana Mehling Rea of North Lake Wisconsin, and Sharon Hunt of Franklin.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 1, at Macon Funeral Home.
