Virgie Louise Shuler, 91, of Franklin, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 5, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Melvin and Sarah Belle Blaine Long. She was married to the late Don Lee Shuler who died in 1985 and was preceded in death by a son Paul Edward Shuler, a daughter, Mary Belle Shuler and five brothers and three sisters. She was a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by seven sons, Dwight R. Shuler and wife Traudel, Jerry Furman Shuler and wife Judy, Charles Linden Shuler and wife Mary Margaret all of Franklin; Jackie Harrell Shuler of Greenville, VA, Jessie Melvin Shuler and wife Geneva, Weaver Lee Shuler and wife Cleo and James Marselle Shuler and wife Arbutus all of Franklin; three daughters, Donna Louise Holden of Franklin, Virginia Peek and husband Morley of Johnson City, TN and Shirley Peek and husband Leroy of Franklin; one sister, Myrtle Dowdle of Columbia, SC; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jonathan Wolf, Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Andy Cloer will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 7, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Shuler, Steven Shuler, Jeff Shuler, Kevin Shuler, Jimmy Shuler, Donnie Holden, Tony Peek and Gary Peek.
