Obituary

Violet A. Zellers Loop White, 98 years, 11 months of age, 85 Bobby Conley Rd., Franklin, NC, left her home here at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 and went to a better home for eternity. She was born in Logansport, IN on December 8, 1911 to Cora Riggleman and Dean Zellers. She had a sister, Eileen Zellers Shanks and a brother, Vaughn Zellers, both deceased.

Violet, or "Ba" to her family, was an LPN, graduating in 1959, and worked 10 years at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She loved her work and still consulted her Nursing Manual up until a few months ago when anyone had an ailment.
"Ba" loved to babysit her grandchildren and they, in turn, enjoyed every minute of that. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol in the 1940's; in the 1950's she was Squadron Secretary for Sarasota Sailing Squadron and a member of a bridge club and sorority, Kappa Delta Phi in Sarasota, FL. "Ba" was the oldest member at Coweeta Baptist Church.

In 1933 "Ba" married Leon L. Loop in Indianapolis, IN. In 1962 she married James White, who was born in Milgavnie, Scotland. They lived in Sarasota, FL and spent their summers in Franklin, NC until they moved to Franklin in 1992.

Surviving family include two daughters, Mona Lou Loop Lewis and husband Odell, their children Terri head, Michael Lewis, Orville Lewis and Tina Lewis/grandchildren Bradley and Kenyon Lewis all of Franklin, NC. Anita Loop Mathis and husband Gene Mathis, their children, Deborah Wagner/Jerry Wagner, Traci Telford/Jerry Telford, Brett Mathis, grandchildren Joshua Wagner, Mark Wagner, Britany Telford, Kelly Telford and Cody Mathis all of Sarasota, FL. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Kay and Bill Miller, Craig and Liz Shanks and Vaughn Dean Zellers and Linda Zellers of Warsaw, IN; great nieces nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Coweeta Baptist Church on Saturday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Gene Mathis will officiate. Interment will be in Ellenton, FL at a later date.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
