Obituary

Rev. Vernon Logus Brockman, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Born in Ida, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Logus Brockman and Elizabeth Owens Brockman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose DeMeritt Brockman; two daughters, Sharon Joy Brockman and Deborah Ann Gooden and brother, Marion Bob Brockman. Vernon was a retired pastor from the Church of the Nazarene. He "Believed in and lived holiness". After retiring, he became the supply minister of various Nazarene churches all over Louisiana. As pastor, he loved visiting people. Vernon enjoyed fishing, playing table games like scrabble and dominoes and loved camping and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Emagene Green Kelley. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Darlene and Michael Fiscus of Mill Valley, CA; two sons, Michael Wayne Brockman of Melrose, FL and John Mark Brockman of Garland, TX; six stepchildren; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17th at Franklin New Life Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Rhonda Haney will officiate. Interment will be in the Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, LA.
