Vera Sanders, in the early morning hours on September 5th, 2026, at the age of 90, left her earthly home and went on to meet her Lord and Savior.

She was born on July 9th,1936, in Fort Recovery, Ohio to the late John and Dorothy Teeters. She was the eldest of eight children, three girls and four boys. She was preceded in death by three of her brothers, Thomas Teeters, Edward Teeters and Phillip Teeters.

Vera was married twice, and preceded in death by both. her first husband, Ralph Giffin, shared a long life with her and they raised 4 children together. She met her second husband, James Sanders, a local in Franklin, North Carolina through a friend.

Vera was immersed in the Christian Faith from a young age and carried out her faith throughout her life. She loved attending church, reading the Bible, playing the organ, singing Christian songs, and teaching the biblical scriptures. She tithed regularly throughout her life and always dreamed of being a missionary. Vera loved to spend time with her brothers and sisters fellowshipping, playing music and reminiscing about old times they shared together. She enjoyed traveling to various locations, especially going to Amish areas and enjoying the Amish food. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, watching her Christian shows, reading the Bible and Amish books, listening to gospel music, and playing the piano and organ.

Vera is survived by her children; Mike Giffin, Rebecca Posey, Barbara Miller and Angela Giffin. Grandchildren; Joshua Giffin, Jessica Whidden, Sarah Posey, James Posey, Vanessa Wells, Travis Giffin, Rachael Moore, Tyler Miller, and Noah Miller. She has fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Merilyn Alley, Virginia Shelton and brother Kenneth Teeters.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2026 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Family viewing will be at 12:30pm in a room adjacent to the chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
