Thomas Belton Bishop, 72, of Franklin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Rev. Joe Bishop and Pearl Smith Bishop. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Quinton. He was a US Army Veteran, Deputy Sheriff, Truck Driver and Dispatcher for DeSoto Trail, and owner of East Main Street Tire Shop. Tom was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post 7339.
Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ellen Randall Bishop; brothers, Mark Bishop and wife Linda, Roger Bishop and wife Joyce, Brad Bishop and wife Margaret, all of Franklin and Jewell Ray "JR" Bishop, of Marietta, GA; sisters, Marsellie Cobb, Peggy Arnold, both of Danville, VA, and Joey Cochran, of Franklin; his toy poodle, Zoe; his best buddy who he considered a son, Rick Dehart; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at Macon Funeral Home, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Eddie Stillwell, and Rev. Scott Eichelberger will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
