Obituary
Thomas James Carter, Jr., 95, of Sylva, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
He was the son of the late Thomas James Carter, Sr. and Lucy Maria Ballard Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine sisters. Thomas loved to farm, hunt and fish. He was of the Methodist faith.
Born in Bryant, VA, he is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Farmer (Leslie) of Sylva, Jean Logwood (Morris) and Marilyn Carter, both of Altavista, VA; sons, Robert D. Carter and Thomas J. Carter, III both of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Burnley C. Harvey, Arrington, VA; grandchildren, James Cromwell and Dalton Cromwell both of Sylva, Shannon Butts, (Kris), of Meherrin, VA, Katelyn Hockett (Ryan), of Bumpass, VA, Buddy Huckabee (Jenny), of Franklin ; great grandchildren, Braxton and Adalyn Huckabee.
Funeral Service will be held at Lynchburg, VA.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
