Thelma Daves Smith, 92, of Otto, died Saturday, September 12, 2009.

Born in Macon Co. she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Daves and Elizabeth Anne Holbrooks Daves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Vaughn Smith who died in 1991 and sisters, Kate Mason and Lola Parrish. Thelma loved flower gardening and needle work. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Bobbie Chambers of Charlotte, Lucy Mason and Vera Messer both of Franklin; son, Benny Smith of Otto; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15 the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Harrell and Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 till 9 Monday, September 14 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be, Donald Messer, Ben Messer, Jason Dendy, Junior Fouts and Eddie Smith.
