Obituary
Thad Cunningham Byrd, 85, of Franklin, passed away April 30, 2012.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Ed Bascomb Byrd and Laura Cunningham Byrd. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, J. Frank Byrd, George Byrd and Clint Byrd and sisters, Faye Cowan, Nell Fullbright and Ruth West. Thad worked for General Motors and later, was International Representative for the UAW. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laura Cascaddan Byrd; step-son, William Wise of Ferguson, KY; step-daughters, Sheila Keiser of Louisville, KY and Diana Lynn of Mission Viejo, CA; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Stacey Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Fullbright, Scott Keiser, William Wise and Rob Koch.
