T.A. Johnson, 81, of Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late John Johnson and Missouri Buchanan Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Hallie Johnson who died March 17, 2010; a daughter, Eileen Johnson; grandson, Justin Johnson and a great granddaughter, Gracie Scott. T.A. was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church and he was retired from the Town of Franklin where he worked in maintenance. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by five children, Debra Scott and husband Tony of Sylva, Carolyn Wiggins and husband Ted of Bryson City, Cathy Stouffer and Junior Bolen of Gastonia, Glenn Johnson of Sylva and Tommy Joe Johnson and wife Cindy of GA; brother, Hampton Johnson of Sylva; five sisters, Mary Holland and Patsy Allen both of Franklin, Wilhmenia Biddix of Sylva, Wanda Donaldson of Oklahoma and Dixie Nell McCord of Asheville; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from Monday, September 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Junior Bolen, Ted Wiggins, Glenn Johnson, Steven Franklin, Daniel Scott, Michael Franklin and Steve Teesateskie.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
