Obituary

Sue Matthews Dean, 66, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Matthews and Kathryn Porter Matthews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Bill Dean. Sue worked most of her life in the food services industry and was owner and operator of the Downtowner Restaurant from 1976-1986. After retirement she loved spending time in her flower garden and enjoyed going fishing. She was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Robert F. Clark Jr. and wife Laura Wiggins Clark of Otto; daughter, Laura Clark Wood and husband Darrell Wood of Franklin; granddaughter, Lyndie Cowan; three step-grandchildren, Dana, Vanessa and Duran Wood and first husband Robert F. Clark Sr.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January, 14, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Southard and Rev. Don Bates will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Conner, Rocky Pattillo, Mike Cummings, Wayne English, Jeff Shook and Kevin Witherington.
Landy Pendergrass, Tommy McCollum, Mike Kinsland, David English, and Larry Cloer will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice House Foundation of WNC, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
