Obituary
Stephen R. Metzler, 69, of Otto, NC, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Born in Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph Metzler, Sr. and Florence Chamberlain Metzler. Stephen was a US Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 108 and the Patriot Guard. He retired from Bell South, was secretary of the U.S.S. Kankakee A039 Reunion, was former leader of Boy Scout Troop #458, Hollywood, FL and was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Barnes Metzler; brother, Joseph Metzler and wife Debbie of Auburndale, FL; sister, Lorraine Steighner and husband Bill of Otto; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 2, at Otto Fire Department.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
