Stephen Christopher Kresal, 65, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late George Kresal and Lois Orlene Woolford Kresal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Kresal. Stephen was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and was a manager for Lab Corp. He was a jack of all trades, had a great love for arts and antiques and excelled at everything he did. In his later years, he devoted his life to his granddaughter, Katlin; his involvement at East Franklin Elementary School was extensive.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Marie Clegg; granddaughter, Katlin Marie Kresal of Franklin; one brother, Mark Kresal of Franklin; three sisters, Lynn Kresal-Jones (Bill) of San Francisco, CA, Deborah Wadhams (Fred) of Weaverville, NC and Pam Penland of Asheville, NC and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held.
