Obituary

Silas "Nat" Goodwin, 80, of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012.

Born in Calhoun Co., FL, he was the son of the late Charles Goodwin and Bonnie Adkins Goodwin. Nat retired from the US Air Force after 24 years as Master Sgt. and served during the Vietnam Era. After retiring from the military, he owned and operated Goodwin's TV Service. He loved gardening and cooking and especially loved his grandchildren. Nat was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Chairman of Ushers.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Higdon Goodwin of Franklin; two daughters, Sallie Conley and husband Dennis and Lynda Goodwin, both of Franklin; two grandchildren, Stefanie and Ryan Conley; one sister; one brother and one half-brother.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate. Burial will be in Higdonville Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
