Sergio Izquierdo, age 55 of Otto, passed away Monday, September 13th, 2021.
Sergio was born in Cuba on September 9th, 1966. He is the son of the late Juan Geofredo Izquierdo and Felicia Hayde Marcelo Mondejar Izquierdo. Sergio was a wonderful man who exemplified what it means to be a godly man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Cuba, grew up in New Jersey, moved to Florida where he met his wife Tessy, and together they planted their roots in Otto NC. There, they faithfully raised 3 children. He loved his family. Next to his relationship with Christ, his family was his most prized possession. He loved his Sunday lunches with his family and made it his priority to regularly meet, pray, and share a meal together. Sergio was also a patriot. Loving God and his country were a part of his daily life and convictions. He knew the importance of standing up for Truth and taught his children to honor Christ above all else. The life he lived has changed generations and will continue to do so even after his passing. Sergio lived a wonderful life and will be missed greatly but we rest knowing his life was hidden in Christ and he is now beholding his Savior's face and enjoying His constant holy and loving presence and embrace.
Sergio leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Tessy; 3 children, John Mark Izquierdo and wife Makayla Izquierdo, David Izquierdo and wife Patience Izquierdo, Linnette Izquierdo Bohner and husband Justin Bohner; as well as 7 beloved grandchildren, Porter, Rosalie, Samuel, Meadow, Mason, Avett, and Ashlee.
