Obituary
Schellie A. Benjamin, 65, of Poinciana, FL, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Earl M. Alexander. Schellie graduated from Florida Southern College where she received her BS in Medical Technology; and from University of South Florida where she received her MA in Microbiology. She was employed by various Medical Centers in Florida and Georgia during her career as a medical technologist. She loved quilting, music and playing the mountain dulcimer.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mason N. Benjamin; daughter, Aubrey Dear of Davenport, FL; brother, Doug Alexander of Haines City, FL; sister, Shannon Degamon of Lakeland, FL; and a grandson, A.J. Dear.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lewis Rathbun Wellness Center, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
