Obituary

Sarah Ledford Waldroop, 72, of Franklin, entered into rest on Monday, February 7, 2005.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Ledford and Florence Ray Ledford. She was married to the late George "Spud" Waldroop. Sarah graduated sum cum laude from Western Carolina University in 1977 with a degree in marketing. She retired in 1997 from Sangamo-Weston where she worked as a marketing sales representative. Sarah was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church where she was a member and secretary-treasurer of the Naomi Sunday School Class.

She is survived by four children, Michael H. Waldroop and wife Joyce of Westminster, Colorado, John L. Waldroop and wife Carol, Steven E. Waldroop and wife Karen and Cynthia Waldroop McClure and fiancee Russell Raby all of Franklin; two sisters, Mary Ledford Oliver of Franklin and Elmyra Ledford Tamashiro of Waikoloa, Hawaii; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Ball, Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Robert Enloe will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Macon Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Byron McClure and Adam Waldroop.

Memorial donations may be made to the Naomi Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, 69 Iotla Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
