Ruth Bowers Brown, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Savalia Bowers and Ziddie Houston Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Carl" Brown Sr., who died September 4, 2007 and seven brothers and sisters, Charlie Bowers, Lelia Bowers, Addie Mae Williams, Joe Bowers, Cora Dean Bowers, Dora Bowers and Gladys Conner. Ruth enjoyed crafts, canning, gardening and reading cook books. She was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, John C. Brown and wife Terry of Franklin; two grandsons, Jason Curtis Brown and Nathan Carl Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 24th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23rd, at Macon Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Brown, Nathan Brown, Wayne English and Jimmy Hall.
