Obituary

Ruby "Granny Glenn� Sawyer Cloer, 85, of Franklin,entered into rest on Friday, March 10, 2006.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Sawyer and Ethel Griggs Sawyer. She was married to the late Glenn Cloer who died January 4, 1993 and was preceded in death by a sister, Reba Hicks; brother, Berry Sawyer; and son-in-law, Arnold Carpenter. Granny Glenn was a member of Patton United Methodist Church where she served as lay leader, was active in the Adult Sunday School Class and served on many committees in the church. She was a great believer in prayer.

She is survived by three sons, Rev. Andy Cloer and wife Evlyn, Johnny Cloer and wife Joanne and Rev. Bobby Cloer and wife Anita all of Franklin; six daughters, Dixie Barker and husband Jim, Laura Green and husband Tommy, Reba Carpenter Rogers and husband John, Brenda Holland and husband Gary, Glenda Cochran and husband Buddy, and Evelyn Boatwright and husband Jeff all of Franklin; sister-in-law, Annie Conley of Franklin, fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Newell and Rev. Robert Dryman will officiate. Burial will be in the Patton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Macon Funeral Home, at other times the family will be at the family home, on Louisa Chapel Road.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mike Carpenter, Dewane Cloer, Bill Holland, Chris Green, Phillip Cochran, Eric Boatwright and Timothy Cochran.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Regina Cochran, Angela Barker, Darlene Dills, Rebecca Kaminski, Leslie Vanhook, Heather Ray, Susan Cloer and Amber Boatwright.

Memorial donations may be made to the Patton United Methodist Church Building Fund, C/O Gary Holland, 65 Scroggs Road, Franklin, NC 28734.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
