Ruby Inez McMahan Bradley, 83, was called home to heaven on May 9, 2013 from her home at 103 Bidwell Street, Franklin, NC after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John R. McMahan and Hattie Jones McMahan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Bradley; brother, John McMahan, Jr. and sister, Lucy McMahan. She was a graduate of Webster High in Jackson County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin. She retired from People's Department Store after 47 years of service.
She is survived by three brothers, Corsey McMahan and wife Magdalene, Grover McMahan and wife Evelyn and Bobby McMahan and wife Ethel all of Jackson County; one sister, Mildred Ann Carver of Franklin who was also her caregiver for the past 12 years; sister-in-law, Betty McMahan of Franklin; several nieces and nephews and three very special cousins, Phyllis, June and Bill Fox all of Sylva.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Rusty Wolfrey, Rev. Benny Bagwell, Rev. Vic Greene and Rev. Eddy Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sam McMahan, Steve McMahan, David McMahan, Bill Fox, Howard Patton and Jason Lavigne.
