Roy Lyle McMahan, 76, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late George McMahan and Zilla Buchanan McMahan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Austin. Roy was a member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Dowdle McCall McMahan; three step children, Ellen Hodgin, Janet Crawford and husband Jim and Dickie McCall and wife Beki all of Franklin; two sisters, Virgie Guyer of Franklin and Jan Lyerly of Pickens, SC; two brothers, Ted McMahan of Clinton, TN and Benny McMahan of Inman, SC; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Ernie Sanders and Rev. Wiley Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Sylva.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 14, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be family and friends.
