Ronald Gene Bishop, 75, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013.

Born in Lexington, KY and raised in Portsmouth, OH, he was the son of the late Roger F. Bishop and Venetia Parker Bishop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Shields Bishop. Ron will be remembered for working as a plumber, working for West Lumber, Macon County Supply and most recently, Caterpillar. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, darts and was a rabid Cincinnati Reds fan. The loves of his life were his family, friends and fireflies.

He is survived by three children, Christy Kimsey and husband Vic of Franklin, Kenny Bishop and wife Kerry of Buford, GA and Shannon Lewis and husband Cary of Marietta, GA; special friend, Nancy Durm, twin-brother, Roger D. Bishop of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Adam Kimsey and wife Tasha, Ariana Kimsey, Elizabeth Bishop, William Bishop and Makayla Gibbs and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Drinnon will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
