Roger Bruce Lovell, Sr., 67, of Franklin, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at his residence after a long illness.
Born at home in Gardner, MA, on March 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Ruth A. DeCarteret Lovell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Lovell and a sister, Dorothy Stowell. Roger attended Gardner High School and joined the US Navy in November of 1960, where he served until 1966; three years of which he served in the helicopter squadron as a Sikorksy mechanic on the USS Essex HS-9. He was an auto mechanic and auto salesman. Roger was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diana L. Jarrett Lovell; first wife, Betty Lovell of Florida; three daughters, Cindy Lovell Robbins and husband, Rick of Bunnell, FL, Kimberly Lovell Nasser of Ormond Beach, FL and Brittany Lauterbach Lovell of Ocala, FL; two sons, Roger Bruce Lovell, Jr. and wife Abbey Lovell of Ormond Beach, FL and Stephen Charles Lovell and wife Sarah of Franklin, NC; his beloved mother-in-law, Lucille A. Jarrett McDaniel of the home; two sisters, Phyllis Perreault of Port Orange, FL and Deanna Tatro of Winchendon, MA; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Daytona Beach, FL, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted.
