Obituary

Robert Willis Wink, 78, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Sunday, April 9, 2006.

A native of Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Willis Wink and Alice Kenyon Wink. He attended Penn State University and received a bachelors degree in criminal justice from Buffalo State Teachers College. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII . He retired from the Town of Tonawanda Police Dept. after 32 years of service. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church of Franklin and was a member of the choir. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Prime Time Singers, member of the Western Carolina Community chorus, member of the Masonic Fellowship Lodge #1175 in Cheektowaga, NY, life member of the American Legion Post 108, life member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, member of the FBI National Academy Associates, was a Scottish Rite Mason with the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, member of the Ismailia Shriners of Buffalo, NY and was a member of the aircraft owners & pilots association. He actively played tennis, was an avid reader and loved to fly. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Friends of the Library Book Store.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lois Burton Wink.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Allen, Rev. Maria Edmonds and Rev. Harold Ball will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Methodist Church Choir Fund, Friends of the Library or the Macon County Department on Aging.
