Obituary

Robert F. Williams died October 30, 2010 at his home in Cullowhee, NC. Bob was born in Essex, NY in 1930. At the age of 12 Bob moved to West Street in Utica with his parents, Glynn Williams and Ruth Sherman Williams and his brother Roger S. Williams.

Bob learned the carpentry trade as a young man and founded Robert F. Williams Company, Inc. in the late 1950's. Later he formed Williams and Eberley, Inc. with partner Neil Eberley. Throughout the years his companies built many quality homes in the Greater Utica area, including the Sadaquada Apartments in Whitestown. Bob also established a custom design kitchen cabinet business in the big red barn on Middle Settlement Road in New Hartford.

While living in the Whitesboro area, Bob was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Home Builders Association of the Mohawk Valley, of which he served as President.

Bob left the Whitesboro area in 1978 and continued building homes in Florida and then later in North Carolina. After retirement in the early 1980's Bob enjoyed life on his sailboat in the Virgin Islands where he met his wife of twenty-five years, Sharon K. Robinson.

Bob and Sharon established the Los Andes import business, based out of North Carolina. The business took the couple on many trips to South America, Arizona and to the southern United States.

Bob is survived by his wife Sharon Williams, his brother Roger Williams and wife Pat, his children Karen Stockton and husband Kenneth, Janet Lombard, David and Jeffery Williams (both of Florida) and other family members. He will be missed by his loving granddaughters and his great grand children.

A celebration of life service will be held locally at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
