Obituary
Robert Edwin Thrumston, Sr., 65, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Thursday, February 9, 2006.
A native of Harvey, Illinois, he was the son of the late Dorothy Terras Ebeling. He was preceded in death by a brother, David A. Thrumston who died January 31, 2005. He retired in 2000 from Duke Power after 22 years of service. He was a member of the National Billiard Assoc., former member of the Gem Capital Car Club, and had a love of restoration of cars.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda W. Thurmston; two children, Robert Edwin Thrumston, Jr. of Cashiers, NC and Karen Thrumston Flowers of Franklin, NC; one brother, John Tracey Thurmston of Tellico Plains, TN; half sister, Peggy Faulkner of Grants Pass, Oregon; sister-in-law, Betty Thrumston of Largo, FL; three grandchildren, Robert E. Thrumston, III of Greeley, CO, Steven M. Flowers and Aaron E. Flowers both of Franklin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lonny and Jeanette Lundquist of Franklin; special niece, Kathy Williams and husband Glen and great nephew Tyler of Gainesville, GA., niece, Kristina Tallent of Spruce Pine and several other nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
