Robert Henry Kilian, 78, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018.
Born in Ridgewood, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Ann Kilian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Henry Kilian, II; a brother, Frank A. Kilian and a sister, Rosemary Chiofalo. Robert was a Captain in the US Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Franklin; member of the American Legion Post 108, Franklin; president of Kiwanis Club and a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Boca Raton, FL; and lector at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Boca Raton, FL. Robert was an avid golfer and pickleball champion and was soccer coach for his children's teams.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen Kilian; two children, Colleen Kilian Bear (Bill) of Cumming, GA and Christopher Kilian (Suzie) of Greenville, SC; daughter-in-law, Mary Kilian of Jupiter, FL; brother, Anthony Kilian of Pine Bush, NY; sister, Marjorie Silvernail of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren, Robert Henry Kilian, III, John Patrick Kilian, William Elsworth Bear, III, Michael Christopher Bear, Kathryn Elizabeth Kilian, Kelly Louise Kilian and Christopher Francis Kilian, II.
A Communion Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Deacon David Ramsey will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, November 23, at Macon Funeral Home.
