Robert Lee Crawford, 89, of Hiawassee, GA passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Born in Jackson County, NC, he was the son of the late William Grady Crawford and Eddis Crisp Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Crawford, Jim Crawford, and Tommy Crawford. Robert was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Lockhead Martin Corporation as a department manager. Robert was a former board member of Towns County, GA, former member of the Lions Club, member of his local homeowners' association, and member of VFW Post 7807 in Hiawassee. He attended First Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Mertis Angel Crawford; brother, Ray Crawford of Edmond, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 5, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Cothren will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
