Obituary
Richard James Sakowski, 53, of Franklin, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. Richard was employed by Davis Elliott as a crane operator.
Born in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond J. Sakowski, Sr. and Doris Jean Moore Sakowski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Sakowski. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Becky Sakowski; son, Richard James Sakowski, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Katlin Sakowski of Franklin; two brothers, Raymond J. Sakowski, Jr. and Mark Sakowski of Florida; sister, Rhonda Sakowski of Florida; three grandchildren, Skylar Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Raylyn Adkins and several nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Appalachian Animal Rescue Center (formerly known as Macon County Humane Society, 851 Lake Emory Road, Franklin, NC 28734 (maconhumane.com).
