Richard E. "Duke" Penix, Jr., 68, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, August 01, 2017.

Born in Paintsville, KY, he was the son of Richard E. Penix, Sr. and the late Patsy Daniels Penix. Duke was a family man, and enjoyed music, playing the guitar and being outdoors.

In addition to his father, Richard E. Penix, Sr., he is survived by his wife of 41years, Cheryl Mikash Penix; two daughters, Rachel Elizabeth Neff (Bert) of Lawrenceville, GA and Lauren Elaine Stelting (Neal) of Pinedale, WY; brother, Daniel Jay Penix of Cleveland, OH; and two grandchildren, Samuel Ryan Stelting and Lucy Jade Stelting.

A service of healing will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5th at First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Tempe' Fussell will officiate. A celebration of Life will follow; location to be announced.
