Richard Louie Holloway, 90, of Franklin, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016.
Born in Schley County, GA, he was the son of the late Edward Lee Holloway and Molly Childers Holloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Osborne Holloway and four brothers and sisters, Mildred Hite, Lillie Jones, Edward Holloway and Earl Holloway. Richard was a US Army veteran and served during WWII. He loved farming, gardening and being outdoors. He was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Harriet Holloway and Michael Swords of Franklin; two sons, William Stribling and wife Maxine of Americas, GA and James Henderson and wife Karen of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Cindy Henderson, Brad Stribling, Erica Johnson, Laura Henderson and Michael Swords II along with great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
