Richard C. Hair, 73, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008.
Born in Winona, WV. He was the son of the late Raleigh and Irma Painter Hair. In addition, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Mae Hair. Richard was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a school bus driver for Fayette County Schools, Virginia. Richard was a member of First Pentecost Assembly of God; was a minister and was active in nursing home ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Strout Hair; one daughter, Linda Mitchell and husband Steve of Shelby, NC; one son Roy Hair and wife Claudia of Gastonia, NC; three sisters, Leona Fisher of NM, Patricia Brook of VA and Mary Turnbough of TN; one brother, Wilber Hair of TX; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. George Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Macon Funeral Home.
Jonathan Deese, Michael Hair, Kevin Frazier, Joe Marsh, Ray White and Robert Quick will serve as pallbearers.
