Ray Allen Tallent, 55, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of Maxine Cunningham Hodgin and the late J.D Tallent. Ray was the "proprietor" of the "Good Ole Boys" at the Franklin Flea Market. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sports with his son, Adam. He was a devoted member of Windy Gap Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joann Hawks Tallent; daughter, April Tallent and son, Adam Tallent; step-father, Budge Hodgin; brother, Phil Tallent and friend Lois Stamey; four sisters, Wanda Rogers and husband Danny, Linda Bishop and husband Mark, Christine Woodall and husband Tim and Sharon Peek and husband Bobby; half brother, Woodrow Cunningham; step-sister, Glenda Shepherd and sister-in-law; Joyce Tallent all of Franklin; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Wesley Hooper and Rev. John Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Bishop, Bobby Bishop, Austin Bishop, Brian Tallent, Kevin Rogers and Brandon Peek.
Tony Hawkins, Tony Dowdle, Tony Norton, Wayne Cunningham, Jimmy Hall, Gary Holland and Brian Browning will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
