Obituary

Phillip Milford Kell, 93, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011.

Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Mead Kell and Elizabeth Miller Kell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Annie Louise Ledbetter Kell; daughter, Barbara Hummel; three brothers, Donald, Granville and Albert Kell and two sisters, Mary Terrell and Mozelle Mason. Milford was a US Army veteran and served during WWII. He loved to hunt and fish and his passion was raising and training rabbit dogs. He was a member of Franklin Church of God.

He is survived by three daughters, Belva Greenwood, Ruby Southards and Betty Madison all of Franklin; a son, Elmer Kell of Robbinsville, NC; two brothers, Walter Kell, Porter Kell both of Longview, WA; sister, Fonsba Chamblee of Longview, WA; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Wright, Rev. Phillip Cochran and Rev. Clark Sheffield will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 7339 and America Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James Greenwood, Stan Hummel, Mike Kell, Eric Madison, Brian Southards, Jared Greenwood, Stephen Hummel and Zac Cook.

Parker Southards and Dylan Southards will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
