Peggy Browning, 82, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
Born in Otto, NC, she was the daughter of the late Luddie Andrew Jones and Rosie McCall Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie T. Browning who died in 1983; a son, James Browning who died in 1991 and two infant sons, Troy Leon and Jackie Lee. Peggy was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and was known for her Bible School cookies.
She is survived by five children, Tommy Browning and wife Pat, Debbie Bates and husband Terry, Cathy Tippett and husband Tom and Brenda Browning all of Franklin and Shelby Jean Buchanan and husband Earl of Waynesville; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Browning of Colorado Springs, CO; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 4, at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Terry Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in the Wells Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 3, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tony Buchanan, Chad Buchanan, Kevin Bolick, Jonathan Pruitt, Todd Bates, David Browning, Robert Browning and Kevin Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Bates, Earl Buchanan, Jeanne Browning, Pat Browning and Tom Tippett.
