Obituary
Pearl Evelyn Shepherd, 84, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus Gregory and Laura Collins Gregory Mashburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace B. Shepherd; two sisters, Della Gregory and Catherine Martin and a nephew, Gary Gregory. Evelyn was a beloved mother and grandmother.
She is survived by four children, Jerry Shepherd and wife Rhonda, Gail Anderson and husband David, Sue Shepherd and Joe Shepherd all of Franklin; brother, Johnnie Gregory of Franklin; three grandchildren, Heather Shepherd and husband Mark, Jerry Shepherd, Jr. and Jonathan Anderson; one great granddaughter, Eden Conner and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3 at Shepherd Cemetery. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Robert Dryman will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 2, at Macon Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made to the Appalachian Animal Rescue, 851 Lake Emory Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
