Paul "Tom" Elmore, 81, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008.
Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Christy Lee Elmore and Pearl Shepherd Elmore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Hilda Horton Elmore; son John Edward Elmore; grandchild, Chris Elmore and brother, James Lee Elmore. Tom was a CPL in the US Army serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108 and Life Member of VFW Post 7339. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Tommy Lee Elmore and James Paul Elmore both of Gaston Co, NC; brother, Ernest Leonard Elmore of Smithville, NC; two sisters, Frieda Guice and Nancy Deaton both of Gaston Co, NC; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11am Friday, September 26, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Stevens, Rev. Rick Potts and Rev. Wesley Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am, Friday at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Dowdle, Alan Shepherd, Joe Allen, Bob Simmonds, Jamie Elmore and Randy Allen.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
